Flying from Philly to Chicago to Beijing (sleep for one night) and then to Wuhan, and then take a 5 hour train to the little city of Xiangfan. Actually, this flight plan is excellent and reasonable, even if it sounds preposterous.
In Xiangfan, I'll work for New Dynamic Institute, teaching English, living the good life, ya know, the usual, no big deal.
In the present, I am packing in the most compulsive way possible, the only way I know how. My bags are categorically filled with Dr. Bronners, summer "teacher" dresses, and ideas about "The King and I." I feel like a combo of Colonel Mustard and Mary Poppins:
Mostly I am excited... I can't pretend I am not a little weirded out by the whole thing finally coming to fruition. Its invigorating to realize I'll be flying free this time around. I promise to pack a knife! I've been watching a lot of Xena, Warrior Princess in these recent months, and the show has really made me wish I owned more leather breastplates for venturing abroad, but a girl's gotta go with what she's got.
This is my test blog, my firstie, and I promise there will be more substance and news once I hit the bricks. If you are friend or family, or otherwise, respond! comment! lemme know what's up! if you hate that it is a blog, follow via email by clicking the button. much love big world.
